The Godwin-Ternbach Museum, Queens College, is pleased to present, ‘Remember This: A 9/11 Twenty-Year Anniversary Memorial’ exhibition.
Six dramatic, oversized photographs of the proposed ‘Tribute in Light’, 2002, by artists Julian LaVerdiere and Paul Myoda, and realized in conjunction with architects John Bennet, Gustavo Bonevardi, and Richard Nash Gould, and lighting designer Paul Marantz, have been donated by the artists for this anniversary exhibition which is intended to create a mediative space for contemplation and education. These proposals formed the design for the actual installation at Ground Zero in Lower Manhattan, first revealed in 2002, and annually since, 2020 being the exception due to Covid-19 restrictions. These works will be displayed in our lobby gallery, and with eight other prints by the artists, will become part of the museum’s permanent collection after the exhibition’s close.
