The Godwin-Ternbach Museum’s mission as a teaching museum emphasizes the importance of collections research and encourages the responsible use of its collections for research, analysis, exhibition, interpretation and other educational activities.
The images and records currently online represent only a part of our permanent collection of over 7,000 works of art including paintings, sculpture and decorative arts, prints and drawings, ethnographic arts and photographs. The works now available online were chosen from recently restored artworks andrecently organized and researched exhibitions whose catalogues are part of the museum’s publications in the areas of Renaissance, Andean, Asian, WPA, textiles, and photographs. The collection is also available for online browsing by using the Random Search function. The museum will be indexing all of its holdings over the next few years in an effort to provide full access to its collections. In 2012 and 2013 exhibitions of Turkish and nomadic textiles and objects and Dutch art in the collection will be searchable. Please continue to visit this search site for ongoing updates.
