Lectures & Symposia

artistspanel_1_redLectures and symposia on topics related to each special exhibition are organized with presentations by noted
scholars, artists, and curators from Queens College, City University of New York, and other New York City
institutions. Notable guest lecturers include curators from the Metropolitan, Brooklyn, and Princeton University
Museums of Art, as well as leading contemporary artists and critics. Lectures most often are illustrated with slides and are more formal than gallery talks, focusing on historical or critical topics, with question and discussion periods following presentations. Symposia are often interdisciplinary and thematic, and include scholars from different fields who present papers on various aspects of a special exhibition. Discussion sessions and receptions in which guests can interact with participants follow formal presentations.
